Épuisé SOLD

The tunic is fabricated from a fine Army green wool, while the contrasting collar is in forest green wool. The shoulders are adorned with Lieutenant's (Leutnant) shoulder boards, each board incorporating with four rows of gray threading interlaced with fine silvered aluminum wire, wrapped around white cord, in a chevron formation, with a loop creating a button hole for uniform attachment at the neck end, on a white wool base, each of the loops with a silvered non-magnetic zinc button with a pebbled upper securing the board to the tunic. Both sides of the collar at the opening have Infantry Officer's collar tabs in gray threading interlaced with fine silvered aluminum wire, with the two centre portions in white embroidery, on a forest green wool base. There is a dual hook and eye at the opening of the collar, ensuring a snug fit at the neck line, complemented by three brown buttons on the inside of the collar for placement of a protective liner. There are four pockets on the front, one on each breast and larger ones at the waist on both sides, each designed with a decorative pleat, non-magnetic silvered zinc buttons on the right side pockets, magnetic silvered metal buttons on the left side, each of the buttons with a pebbled upper. The right breast above the pocket is enriched with a Army eagle insignia, in silvered bullion wire in various textures, interlaced with gray threading giving definition to the chest and wings, on a forest green wool base. The front has a vertical row of six non-magnetic silvered zinc buttons with pebbled uppers sewn in place on the right side, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side. Protruding from the second button hole from the top is the ribbon of the Iron Cross 2nd Class, the ends of the ribbon sewn in place on the underside of the opening. The sleeves have French cuffs, while the rear of the tunic is single-vented. The inside is lined in Army green rayon, with a green rayon loop in each armpit at the seam where the Army green rayon interior lining meets the sleeve lining, the sleeves lined in white rayon in a stripped pattern. Sewn in place and suspended from the left armpit is a green rayon strap, forming a loop at its far end thanks to a black plastic button closure. In addition, there is a pocket sewn in place on the left breast, along with a reinforced slot that opens into the left waist pocket. The tunic measures 400 mm across the shoulders and 610 mm in length overall, exhibiting fraying on the collar tabs and on the eagle insignia, scattered silvering wear on the buttons, extensive repair in the stitching on the underside of the collar where it butts the wool body of the tunic, light soiling on the underside of the right sleeve and on the inside left breast pocket rayon lining, with separation evident in the stitching of the lining near the left armpit. As worn. (C:140)
