The tunic is fabricated from a moss green cotton, while the contrasting collar is in hunter green wool. The shoulders are adorned with Lieutenant's (Leutnant) shoulder boards, each board incorporating four rows of gray threading interlaced with fine silvered aluminum wire, wrapped around white cord, in a chevron formation, with a loop creating a button hole for uniform attachment at the neck end, gilt Gothic "S" cypher (designating Officer's School), on a pink wool base, the loop at the shoulder end housing a silvered non-magnetic button with a pebbled upper. Both sides of the collar at the opening have Armoured Officer's collar tabs in gray threading interlaced with fine silvered aluminum wire, with the two centre portions in pink embroidery, on a hunter green wool base. There is a dual hook and eye at the opening of the collar, ensuring a snug fit at the neck line, complemented by three metal folding clips on the inside of the collar for placement of a protective liner. There are four pockets on the front, one on each breast and larger ones at the waist on both sides, each designed with a decorative pleat, fold over flaps with reinforced button holes and silvered non-magnetic metal buttons, each of the buttons with pebbled uppers, the button on the right breast pocket maker marked "F & CO" on the reverse, the button on the right waist pocket maker marked "MO, T7" on the reverse, the buttons on the left breast and waist pockets maker marked "W.D." on their reverses. The right breast above the pocket is enriched with an Army eagle insignia, in silvered bullion wire in various textures, interlaced with hunter green threading giving definition to the wings and wreath, on a hunter green wool base. The left breast pocket has three pairs of vertically-aligned horizontal loops in dark gray threading for the placement of awards, one pair on the pleat, the other two flanking those of the pleat, the awards having since been lost to time, with two small pinholes just below the pocket for another item, possibly a ribbon bar, that also been lost to time. The front has a vertical row of five silvered non-magnetic metal buttons with pebbled uppers sewn in place on the right side, all of which are maker marked "W.D." on the reverse, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side. Protruding from the second button hole from the top is an Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon, sewn in place on the underside of the opening. The sleeves have French cuffs, each of which are held in place via stitching in two locations, the right cuff with an Afrika Korps cufftitle sewn in place, its text and rules in fine silvered bullion wire, on a hunter green embroidered base, while the rear of the tunic is single-vented. The inside is lined in Army green rayon from the mid-point to and including the area around the armpit on each side, with a small strip in Army green rayon butting the collar and joining the two sides. The tunic measures 400 mm across the shoulders and 590 mm in length overall, exhibiting scattered nips throughout in the fabric on the exterior, with wear present on the left side on the reverse, along with light soiling overall.
