Germany, Third Reich. A Type I Oakleaves to the Knights Cross with Case & Ribbon, by Gebrüder Godet & Co.
(Eichenlaub zum Ritterkreuz des Eisernen kreuzes). A silver
oakleaf cluster with three leaves, the reverse makred 900 and SiLBER
l/50 for Gebrüder Godet & Co., Berlin, measuring 20.20 mm (w) x
19.26 mm (h), weighing 6.9 grams, exhibiting a nice patina on obverse
and reverse, and in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by an original
ribbon, equipped with two Prym snaps on each end, measuring 45 mm (w) x
470 mm (l), and in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by an early
case of issue, measuring 77 mm (w) x 101 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), and in very
fine condition. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity provided
by Dietrich Maerz, dated 27 January 2019.
Footnote: The Oakleaves to the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross were
introduced on 3 June 1940. During the course of World War Two a total of
